when trying to put illustrator files into a 3D space in after effects alot of the camera controls act kinda funny and it seems like illustrator and 3D in after effects doesn’t mesh. for example when trying to move the position or point of interest the illustrator picture wont move. Or it’ll do crazy stuff and go in all different directions. am i just dumb or does after effects and illustrator just not get along. 🙂

Illustrator and n After effects actually get along very well. Your artwork may either be extremely complex with excessive amoutns of points, or you may have a bitmapped image whichyou would proably rather export to .psd format whchi works well with AE.

Describe your artowrk, does it contain an element like a gradient mesh. Try saving somehting really simpler like a rectangle from Illustrator, and see if you have the same problem.
