After Effects Training Class, DVD, or Book
Posted by Christopher Bagnall on August 14, 2008 at 4:28 pmCan someone recommend a good AE training class in NYC? Or a book or DVD that would get me going so that I can go to a more intermediate live class? Thanks.

Book – The Meyers, “Creating Motion Graphics with After Effects” is a must read
DVD – Check out Total Training they have a bunch, and Jayse one of the guys who puts together the tutorials here on the COW put out a training DVD for AE 5 that although old has a lot of great information
Classes – In NYC there is Future Media Concepts that I took a few classes at that we good.

August 14, 2008 at 6:05 pmFor AE instructional series, there is also the Lynda.com series. You can subscribe to it online for $25 a month and go through it at you own pace.
Also, Aharon Rabinowitz has his After Effects To the Next Level, Vol. 1 and 2, DVDs that are part of the Creative COW Master Series. They are $39 each as I recall and they are filled with lesson after lesson from one of the finest teachers on the planet. Visit the COW Store and go to the Creative COW Master Series for more. They would be a bargain at five-times the price.
For great AE books, don’t forget to look at Mark Christensen’s books, they are also very well done and full of great stuff.
