  • After Effects to Premiere Pro via Dynamic Link is slow

    Hi,

I use Dynamic Link to import AE comps to Premiere for live editing, but the problem is that the link is very slow. Premiere also use alot of time to render the sequence, just so I can play it in real time when editing. I know that in AE you could turn the quality of the comp to half or even quarter to speed up the render time, but is there some tricks to speed up the synch/rendertime in Dynamic Link?

    Thanks!

    Hi

    No, not that i know!
You can try and reduce the playback quality… but there is no magic in the DynamicLink that speed up things THAT fast!

Try this to lower the playback settings:

It would be a dream if i can play back my comps in PP during DL.
But why should AE render for hours in PP can play it back in real time?!
You need to render this stuff, there is no way arround it – and it will take time!

    😉
    I hope this helps, a bit…

Hi Stefan, and thank you for the tip.

I was afraid there would be no quick solution to this. And I don’t think that Dynamic Link is such a huge advantage as it’s supposed to be, since I was expecting to work seamless between AE and PP. It actually makes PP slow as well, because it has to confirm the files all the time. Maybe the DL works fine on lower video resolutions, but when you are working in FullHD, it can’t keep up..

I will try to reduce the playback quality and see how it goes.

We just have to get it right the first time, so we don’t have to render more than once. 😉

    Best regards,
