I was wondering if anyone can help me out.

I am working with stills and graphics/supers in AE, but I want to compile the After Effects sequence in Final Cut Pro to put it with other elements for the project. But I am wondering what the best render settings would be to export out of AE 7.0 to import into Final Cut Pro 5.1.4, to get the highest quality out of the AE project.

If someone can help me out that would be great.

uncompressed quicktime … or animation codec would be the best … but they take up the most space … you can render with or without fields …it’s a bit of a personal preference … remember to render with an alpha channel if you;ll be compositing

Usually Animation Codec or Uncompressed is best.

The only problem is, using these files will force you to render your FCP timeline every time you make any changes. If your FCP project is already built around specific footage, you may be better off rendering out of After Effects to whatever format your FCP timeline is. For example, if it’s a DVCPRO timeline and footage, output from AE to DVCPRO codec. The exception is, of course, if you need an alpha channel in your After Effects render, in which case Animation Codec is a good choice.
