  • After Effects titling to Vegas using Lagarith codec: No Alpha?

Hi, I ususally export my titling in AE using PNG image sequence or uncompressed avi and import them to Vegas (selecting premultiplied dirty as Alpha Channel).

I decided to use the Lagarith codec to reduce the file size (uncompressed gets really big and image sequence spoils my folder’s tidiness!!)

But I can’t get transparency with Lagarith. I make sure I select in AE export RGB + Alpha but I can’t get the tranparency/alpha to work.
Is there something am I doing wrong?
    Thanks in advance

Just add the event with transpary to the time line and right-click on the event. Selecting the PROPERTIES option allows you to select the right transparancy setting for this event

Thanks for the reply but I found the solution. In Lagarith configuration I must select RGBA and not RGB.
Then import to Vegas, right click properties–>media and premultiplied dirty

Alternately you might want to use the Quicktime Animation codec. It is specifically designed for exactly this kind of work.
