  • After Effects rendering imported footage at lower quality?

So I have some footage that I made within after effects (particles), and then rendered it out.

Now I imported the footage into After effects in a different project file, because it is apart of a compilation of videos. However, when I render the footage out, the imported footage is slightly less quality, despite I am using the lossless setting in the render queue. When I open the footage in quicktime, it is as crisp as ever, but once the footage is imported into after effects and rerendered, it becomes slightly pixelated.

Why could this be? It is very annoying and any feedback would be great, thanks!

You have rendered TWICE. Which of the two renders is pixelated?

What are the render, output and layer quality settings related to the problematic render.

Does the first movie rendered look pristine – in QT and AE’s Footage Panel?

If the issue is with the second render – have you applied any effect(s) onto the initially rendered movie? Do you have Camera DOF applied in the comp with this movie?
