  • After Effects Rendering Fail.. is it the lights?

    Hi all,

I have a rendering problem in After Effects CS4, and was wondering if anyone had experienced anything similar or even better, if someone had a solution!

I have spent a couple days doing this short animation in HD for a little company project in between jobs, and whenever I go to render with the lights it always fails about a minute into the render. Not even one frame is rendered. I have 4 lights, DOF on, motion blur on, and loads of layers all precomped up. I’ve rendered a version with the lights off on and the DOF, motion blur on and it works fine. But I need the lights damn it!!!

    I’m on OS X, 10.5.7, 2.8 GHz Quad-Core Intel Xeon with 6 Gig.

If anyone could help that would be AWESOME!

    Cheers

I may not be much help but those who would be able to help are going to need a bit more information. Is there an error message when it fails? If so, what does it say? Do you have it set to log things when it’s rendering? If so, what does the log say?

No trees were harmed in the creation of this message, but several thousand electrons were mildly inconvenienced.

    Hey Michael,

cheers for the help. I don’t even get a log file with the crash, nor a sheep noise. Beeeeeeeehhh. No fail message either. I’m stumped?!
