    Hi!

I am making this scene where leaves from trees will start falling, and fly in the air. And all of the leaves would get puzzled into a human (wizard). I reallllly want to know how to get the leaves in Particular to form a leave human, and then the leaves would disappear and only the real person will be standing. PLEASE HELP!!

Effects like this are typically done with a layer emitter, and you do them backwards (starting with the final position, the human form), then time-reverse the layer.

First you would create your animation using an alpha channel of the wizard as a emitter. The particles would emit off of him and up to the tree. Then you would take that entire effect, precomp it and use Layer>Time>Time Reverse Layer. To get them to fall from the sky/tree. For more control I would suggest using Time Remap, but that’s a little bit more advanced.

Got it. But as you might have guessed i am no expert in this, and when i use try to emit the wizard by making a mask, it starts emitting all over the place. I only want particles from the wizard.

Effects see the entire layer, not the masked portion.

Precomp the wizard and mask him inside the precomp. This way, the layer that Particular sees has alpha, not masks.

Ok i have now tried making a mask around the wizard and then i pre-composed it, but even then when i added the particular to the solid layer above, there was still colorful particles coming from the black part.
