I am importing a file rendered from Cinema 4d 11.5 into After Effects CS4.

I have been on a couple of boards so far discussing this problem, and so far I am suspecting Ae to be the problem. It does not ask me for options upon import, and when I go to the project panel and right click the clip to go to “interpret footage” the whole alpha section is greyed out.
There is of course the possibility that it is the mov file that doesnt have the alpha channel rendered out correctly, but based on the other forums I’ve been discussing this problem on – I dont think it is the problem.

Is there some how, some way to determine if a mov file has an alpha channel besides from importing it into Ae???

I have read a couple of topics here on creative cow about the same problem, but it never seems to have been solved.

Thanks in advance for any thoughts!?

What codec did you render to? Only a few codecs can include alpha channels, so this might be a hint.
