After Effects motion graphics design salary?
This question has been asked many times, but there is never really a clear answer. Does anyone know what a decent salary would be for someone working in Austin? I have been working in post houses for the last 6 years doing After Effects motion graphics and just moved from Dallas. Mostly commercial work but I’ve done print, DVD Menus, some movie effects and more. From what I have heard it is pretty difficult to find a job here, so I am excited that I have been offered something, but it is quite a pay cut. I am pretty confident in my abilities as a designer but also need to consider that it’s tough out there. Any advice?

It depends on what decent is for you. I’d say the average motin designer’s salary in Austin is 50k. More if you’re above average.
Don’t go by what the norm is, go by what you need to do the job.
