After Effects locks up while loading projects
So I was working on a project a couple of weeks ago and in the process something happened (I’m sure it was me some how) and now when I launch AE the program opens just fine, however when I try to load a project, any project, AE locks up. It will load stuff (assets) into the project pane and that is it. It wont let me do anything else. I will try to click on another pane or something and all it does is give me the “wrong move” sound. I have to force quit the program just to get it to close.
Any thoughts?? Thank you in advance. I am a novice with AE, but learning.
Mac Pro running 10.5.7
2 x 2.8 GHz Quad-Core Xeon
6 GB 800MHZ DDR2 RAM

Have you tried trashing the prefs?
To restore default preference settings, hold Ctrl+Alt+Shift (Windows) or Command+Option+Shift (Mac OS) while the application is starting.
It’s surprising the number of errors this can fix.
