Is there a simple way to input an After Effects project into a FCP project. I found some great finished projects from places like Revostock and would like to use them in my FCP timelines. Any help would be appreciated or any sites I can buy similar high quality motion projects?

PROJECT? You mean FOOTAGE? I don’t get what you mean. Timeline and all that?

I know how to get from FCP to AE…but not the other way around:

To my knowledge you cannot transfer an AE Project File to an FCP Project File.

You can certainly render out movies and take them into AE and you can send an FCP Project into AE using Automatic Duck or the new Boris FX XML Tool.

Sorry my first post. I meant is there a way to use an after effects project that I buy like a spinning globe in my fcp or motion? I simply need to utilize a few ae projects in a fcp project like maps and lower thirds. Seems like there are lots of ae templates out there but very few motion projects to purchase.

No, as I said. An AE project file cannot be transferred to FCP.

You CAN render out a movie and take that into FCP as I mentioned before.

I seem to recall the COW news droid sent me some press release earlier this week that Boris Effects now had a plug-in to help import AE files straight into FCP projects.

Maybe this is what you’re after?

This whole thread was totally not set up by some marketing guy at Boris, I swear to Ron.

It was the other way around Mark. Boris released an app that did exactly what Automatic Duck does…only cheaper. I forgot about that.

CS4 actually will do this without any help. XML to Premiere, then Premiere to AE. But AE to ANYTHING? Not that I know of…other than Premiere. Maybe then XML to FCP?
