After effect gets stuck after importing Quick time Video.

    1. I have a problem with importing Quick time sample movies
into After Effects – the movie imports adn appears in the library but then AE gets stuck
(glitches, can’t press any buttons – program not responding), it is
defenedly not the sample problem because it happened after I reinstalled
    my windows –

    I have also installed:
    1. K-lite codec pack
    2. ffdshow codec
    3. Quick time player
    4. DiVX Codec
    5. Real Player codec + player

I have a mac, but i am only currently running on the trial version for Adobe After Effects, but i have the same problem, if i try to import a file the program becomes unresponsive. I’m just wondering if you have any solutions. Thank You.
