I’ve just got After Effects 7 for Mac, which is a nice upgrade all round. It does have a little problem though that when I quit out of the program, it sometimes likes to hang indefinitely (until I force quit it). Not devastating, but quite annoying and probably it means there’s a bit of housekeeping the program’s not able to do.

It usually happens after a render and more often with big complicated projects. It doesn’t seem to make a difference purging the RAM before quitting, nor does saving and opening a clean project beforehand help.

The system is OSX 10.4.6 / quad G5 / 4.5GB RAM. Hard drive is formatted with Mac OS Extended (Journaled) and disk cache is set to be on another disk formatted with Mac OS Extended.

    Any ideas?

    Ben.

Sorry, I don’t have an answer, but I have a similar problem with AE 6.5 – same quad, same amount of ram etc. I have the aja lhe on this system and was attributing the freeze to a possible conflict with that, but perhaps it’s more quad related…. I know there are often GL issues with AE and various graphic cards – I’ve got the NVIDIA GeForce 7800GT, not sure if that may play into it as well.
Anyone else have AE hang upon closing?
