I’m making a series of motion graphic sequences and compositing them in Final Cut. I wonder if anyone knows the best settings for a strictly motion graphic video? I’m finding it a challenge to keep the motion graphics looking crisp in Final Cut and wonder if anyone can tell me what settings to make my .mov files in AE and what settings to use in FCP to compile them?

THANK YOU for your help in advance!!!

Well you don’t mention the final deliverable….
    HD? SD? DVD? WEB?
    This would help.

    As for codec, use Prores.

Well, you could go with 720X480 Anamorphic using 10bit Uncompressed.
That would make a nice clean master.

    OR

    720p60 using Prores.

Just setup your sequence in FCP first. Then render out the AE stuff to match the sequence settings. When the edit is locked. Out put from sequence using “Current Settings” Making a digital master. Drop that file into your compression program to create the webclip.

    Make progressive though.

    24p or 30p
