    Hi guys,
I have a couple more days to finish a very hard shot for a client. And of course at the 5th hour I get this error.

After Effects error: Rendering error while writing to file “/Users/Gazelle/AW01720x391test.mov”. An output module failed. The file may be damaged or corrupted. (-1610153464)

I’m using AE CS5 on Mac OSX 10.5.8, Quicktime Pro 7.7

I found an old on here. Same problem, but that was due to having QT 7.4
Do I need to get an older version of QT?

I’m super-stressed. Thanks so much in advance for any help.

    Hi Warner,

Don’t have a real solition to your problem, but I always render hard shots to an image sequence. You can make a .mov of those later. Less chance of losing frames that are already rendered, and sometimes hard-to-render frames suddenly DO render when you render them individually.

    Hope this helps,
    Ralf

I agree with Ralf about rendering and exporting to image sequences from After Effects and then using either Adobe Media Encoder or QuickTime Pro to assemble the image sequence into the QuickTime movie for final delivery.

That said… I have seen a lot of people having trouble with QuickTime 7.7. Try using an earlier version, such as 7.6.x.
