    Hello there. I’m trying to export as quicktime and i get this error with all quicktime codecs&settings :

    After Effects error: creating movie – bad parameter (-50).
    (44::36)

    Using Quicktime Pro 7.4.1 and AE CS3, but i think it does not depend on versions. Anyone knows what causes this? Any help will do great, thanks.

    Googling the error led to this page on Mylenium’s site:

    https://www.mylenium.de/creation/motiondesign/ae_errors/ae_errors_31-40.html

    Since the number and message don’t match, you may need to look around the site. Hope it helps.

    Well, i have reached the same site just half an hour ago, couldn’t find though 🙂 There is a huge chance that it may be Quicktime’s problem.

    I was having the same problem all the time and finally I’ve found the solution. You simply CAN NOT use any of these letters typical for particular countries (like ś, ź, ż, ę, ó, ń etc.) in the name of file neither in the render directory. So just change the name of file and the render directory if needed and everything should be fine. :>

    Hope it will work,

    Yeah, that worked. A year ago 🙂
    So I hereby thank you roughly after one year.

    I had an issue with this error as well but I don’t think it was a QT error. I was running the cartoon effect in AE CS4, it didn’t start giving me this error until I reached the final 3 shots for my client. The only way I could get it to export was by turning the cartoon filter off. I played with the advanced settings and turning OpenGL on and off but with no success.

    I’m gonna trouble shoot it some more after I deliver all my files.

    I had the same problem with AE cs4. I tried everything and I found that I can export the movie from the file menu file-export-quick time movie and it worked perfectly
