  • After Effects can’t handle illustrator grads ?

Couple of days ago I posted a question regarding missing layers from illustrator files imported to AE.
OK, it turns out that AE has some problems with layers that have gradients in them (simple – 2 colors).

Is there a way to bypass this ? (other than applying the Ramp effect to the graphics inside AE)

    cheers

I noticed that when importing an AI file using gradients as “composition – cropped layers” some layers with gradients got cropped into weird shapes. If this is what you are experiencing try importing as “composition”, this fixed the problem for me.

You will find an option for AI files in the Interpret Footage dialog – look for More Accurate.
