After Effects Audio wont work
Ok so i’ve imported MP3, and WAM files of songs to AE, but whenever i play the audio file there’s no sound. It’s not muted, the audio file works when it’s not in AE, and it is playing but theres no sound. Anyone know what to do?

Forgive me if you know this already, or if it’s not the problem you’re having, but the most common cause of audio issues is users trying to get AE to do something it can’t. AE only plays audio when you ram preview, not when you scrub or play the timeline.
To hear audio in AE you need to either Ram preview or hit “.” on your number pad which will play the audio from the current time marker.
If you’re animating to your audio get used to the wav forms display and using markers (“*” key), you’re gonna have to use them.

And also worth mentioning that AE and mp3 do not get along well. Same goes for all compressed audio formats.
Try converting the files to .wav
Even if you get to play the mp3 file on AE it might bring you lots of trouble later. Choppy sound, sync problems, etc.
I´ve had lots of those problems in the past. And I´ve learned my lesson.

Nate, I have the same problem and help from Adobe is not there. From what I am reading on how to do alot of it is it is adding audio to video like we had to do during the real early 90’s by having to turn it in to a keyframe or giving it its own layer. AE has no audio drop and drag capability. I am real frustrated with no being able to just place background music in render and go.
