Hey all, so I have a pretty insane computer. 12 cores i7, 64 gb ram, great graphics card fast drives, etc…

When I bring my red footage into redcine it plays back smooth as glass.
In after effects it’s like slogging through mud when trying to do anything with it.
    Tips, tricks? Anyone?

First, make sure that you have the most recent update.

Details of a recent fix are here:

For those that need to use CS6, like I have to for a current project with RED ERPIC footage, there are two files that need to be updated:

    After Effects CS6.app\Contents\ImporterREDServer.app
    After Effects CS6.app\Contents\Plug-Ins\(Media-Core)\ImporterRED.bundle
