After Effects and Nvidia 1080 / Nvidia RTX 2080 GFX cards
Good morning / afternoon!
I’m a freelance Graphic Designer who uses the Adobe family software.
I am currently running on my home built x64 Windows 10 PC (Intel i7-4790k, 32gb DDR3 Ram, 3x SSDs and x3 2TB HDD). I am currently using a Nvidia 780ti, which is working great, but with more clients wanting more complex show reels with FX adding I can see my card having issues.
I’ve been recently getting the “After Effects failure related to GPU-enabled effects” with the work around of using the software option.
I’ve been considering upgrading to either an Nvidia 1080 or 1080ti, and due to falling prices they have been very tempting.
So my questions are:
Does After Effects support the 1080 / 1080ti cards now? If so are they worth buying?
OR should I wait out for the release of the Nvidia RTX 2080? Will the Nvidia RTX 2080 be supported?
I hope you guys can be of help, I’ve been struggling to get any info.
Cheers, Charles
