    Hi,
I’m working on simple project which needs 80s retro style effect. I clearly know what I want and I don’t know the name of effect.
    https://media.giphy.com/media/z0Cq2ffhl34n6/giphy.gif
I’m trying to achieve the effect used at the end of above GIF.
Where text(outline) zooms/flies out with trail (At least, that is what I think it is)
Any hint on how to get this done is much appreciated 🙂
    Regards,
    Arun Kumar

Back in the 80s, it was called a Streak, pioneered at R/Greenberg Associates by Ken Stytzer and Vincent Giordano. The titles for the movie Superman started the trend. They did it the old-fashioned way,on an animation stand. So that’s part of the story, but not the important part for you…. how to do it. I wish I could help more.

One thing to try is CC radial blur (or CC light rays) with an increasing radius, on a copy of the original layer, and then a subtract mask of the same shape as the original object that expands out to mask out the effect at the end.
