I have primarily worked in motion graphics and 3d animation in the past (advertising industry). Just recently I purchased AE7 and would like to get a few plug-ins. At my old job I tended to use shine, 3d stroke, a little particular. Also, we had other things I took for granted like Knoll light factory, etc. I’m wondering what plug-ins are on your must have list for AE7? Please keep in mind that I am an unemployed “starving artist” right now so I don’t want to spend too much money and it seems like they could actually cost more than the program!

    Thanks in advance!

You haven’t said whether you are on Mac or Windows. Some of the coolest plug-ins out there are not on both platforms, yet.

I was very impressed by PRIME 4, which includes a lot of great things in the package. You can see it online at https://www.digitaltrove.com

I like Boris Continuum Complete (for PC). A nice variety with a good number of pre-sets.

Thanks for the reply. I would have thought there would have been more response. I’ve been using After Effects for over 10 years now and I must admit I’ve collected a few faves myself but wanted to see what others were using so… Thanks again for the input! 🙂

There will be a PC version sometime soon, it is in the works.

The common odds-on favorites are the Trapcode plugs, the ones from Red Giant, for roto there is Silhouette Roto, for paint and retimimg there are the ones from reVision FX.

PS: For many more and feedback about them, please visit the Cow’s After Effects forum and use the search engine to search on the word “plug” and there will be a mountain to sift through.
