Quick way – Right click on audio layer and chose time > time stretch.
Better way – open in external audio editor and do it there. You’ll have more control and should be able to do it without changing the pitch as much.

Only in after effects do children get to pick and whip their parents.

2 ways to do that depending on what you want to do

right click on the audio layer -> time -> and then either enable time remapping or time stretch

however time stretch allows you to put in a percentage like I want the track slowed down to 85% but that also mean your audio layer will shorten and that is most likely not what you want (I find it quite handy when needed to scale down audio tracks)

enable time reverse mapping adds the Time remap to your layer and allows you to use keyframes, like you have a track of lets say a minute and at a certain keyframe you want the audio to be accelerated and then at the next slowed down
