If you’re using a blue background (for instance) go to effects, keying, color key. Use the eyedropper to get the exact same blue your chroma is. Put color tolerance to 100% Tada!! now you`re a jedi fighting in Star Wars.

Actually… the Color Key is a very primitive and crude effect. If you have the Pro version of AE 6.0 or 6.5, it comes with Keylight (separate installer from the CD), which is a very good tool for removing blue or green backgrounds. The documentation that comes with it is very helpful in explaining how to approach a chromakey.

    Indeed.

But if your chromakey is reeeeeally good (heh) you can apply Color Key many times to the layer, keying out a slightly different shade of blue with each application.

But if you have hair, spill, transparency, then you gotta get keylight. 🙂
