    Good evening

I have to give a video presentation to my university, I want to add visual effects for a bonus of points.

I want to compose an explosion animation in space with the tutorial below.

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JYbgjCR8PMI&feature=youtu.be

I can’t use the polar coordinates effect on the effect layer.

Then I add the polar coordinate effect directly into the solid.

Thank you in advance for your assistance.

    See you soon

As Andrew points out in the tutorial–you need to create an adjustment layer above your effect layers with the Polar Coordinates effect on the adjustment layer. Alternately, pre-compose your effect layers, and apply Polar Coordinates to the pre-comp.
