I hope you guys can help me with problem. It has been driving me nuts!

I use Avid Media Composer 5.5 for editing and After Effects CS6 for color grading, effects, etc.

In the past I use to export AAF (or OMF) files from Avid and import them into After Effects using Automatic Duck and everything worked fine.

Now, with CS6, automatic duck is integrated inside After Effects and something is very wrong.
I import the AAF file into After Effects, the import works just fine and I save the project file.

When I try to reopen the after effects project the programs hangs and I have now way of opening the project unless I hide the quicktime files that were created by the importing of the AAF file.

Has anyone else encounter this problem? Do you know of a solution?

    Hay Mr. Kobi,
I was checking your treat since the 26…..
I fell sorry no one has reply to you. Neither have I a solution…
Have you find out the bug…. I am courious because I often use automatic duck import with no problem at all.
From your question I do not get precisely the point. So that I find it difficoult to give you any help & answer.
    Regards.
    Nic.

I actually did find the solution.
You need to go to Edit > Preferences > Media & Disk Cache
and uncheck the “Write XMP to Files on Import” and “Create Layer Marker from Footage XMP metadata” at the bottom.

Then click OK and import your AAF file.

    Works like a charm!
