    Hi All,

A question to the experts. How pervasive is AFP as a network share protocol for new Media workflows consisting of new Mac OSX (10.4.11 and above) compared with SMB and NFS? What would be the main advantage of AFP over these other network file system protocols?

    Thanks for any feedback.

I don’t know the tech details, but AFP is faster and uses less CPU overhead when using OSX machines. Presumably because the OS is tweaked to maximize performance for that protocol.
