AE+RSMB vectors problem…
Posted by Lisandro Puzzolo on June 25, 2008 at 11:23 pmHi everybody!
If I render a scene on AE using RSMB vectors, 16BPC, output with field rendering and frame blending, the RSMB doesn’t render (the image looks like without the filter).
If I render without frame blending, OR without field rendering, the effect is rendered correctly.Does anybody knows how to get the two options render at the same time, on the same pass?
Thanks in advance!

Anyway you can send a 5 frames sequences and your AEP so we can look at it (techsupport@revisionfx.com)
And we will mail back here what’s going on.Pierre

June 26, 2008 at 11:55 pmok got it
You have Motion vectors with fields and color pass with fields
in PAL 25 FPStried it with quicktime render and it works
tried it with your Microsoft DV PAL settings and it does not work
looks to me like a bug by Adobe or Microsoft (they will probably both tell you it’s the other). I tried doing everything inside a 50 FPS comp and then saying in render settings to render with fields at 25 FPS – same issue
What you see if you set the comp to 50 FPS is what you should getIf it’s urgent maybe use a quicktime codec 🙁
will look at the values it calls with the debugger later

June 27, 2008 at 1:37 amFor some reason there is a bug with frame blending | frame mix and this tool when outputting fields, will file a bug
Solution is to turn off frame blendingon that layer at least

June 27, 2008 at 7:05 pmThanks Pierre! Yes, as you said, it’s not a Microsoft DV bug, since I tried even to export JPG frames, and the bug is still there…
I hope this gets fixed in the future!

July 11, 2008 at 9:12 pmtime goes by… then AE support wakes up… can’t figure it out
OK I play some more… then we notice this odd non-interlaced message in the project window when we select the PNG RGBA in Interp Footage Lower Field… so I rerender the PNG16 as TIFF16 RGBA with fields and replaced the PNG footage with that and now it worksso I refiled to adobe as bug with PNG format with fields when you use Frame Blending in render settings in a project over 8 bits…
for now workaround is use TIFF16
