    Hello
I was just passed a project from an AE operator running cs5.5. I asked him to include the original r3d footage and an xml & edl if possible. I also suggested he run it from AE to Premiere and create an xml/edl there just in case. All received were the packaged up project and a .aexp file which he said was generated when he tried to export xml from AE.I can upgrade from cs5 if necessary but was curious to ask here first what would be the best practice here for Resolve ingest and output back to AE.

I am concerned about creating an xml to work with and the fact the original r3d files were not provided however they seem to open fine as r3d files in Redcine-xPro – i have an offline reference qt file for this :30 spot and I just need to conform quickly and painlessly as there is a 2 day turnaround.

    any thoughts?

wait what? I know that’s what i need BUT if you read my post i was only provided a packaged up AE project and a .aepx file?!

In the meantime i did a test upgraded to a trial of cs5.5 from my copy of 5 so as to launch the AE project. I then sent that into Premiere and created an fcp xml – i then imported that in FCP to try to clean it up a bit at least and it seems to have worked when i bring that into DaVinci – one thing i did notice is that in FCP the actual shots would not reconnect to the r3d files.
