I am stumped and have exhausted myself on this one.

    So here it is.

DPX image sequence (24fps) into AE CS3 PRO (for Keying) export animation codec (29.97) into FCP for cut.

out of 30 masters exported (2.6 terra bites of processing) half work perfect and half of them play back to fast.

I am on an 8 core with 6 gigs of ram and a 3 tb raid array.

All the project settings, render settings, and comp settings match.

Anyone know what has happened here?

I do not have a decklink or AJA (it’s on order) but that doesn’t explain why half play perfect and half play fast (in FCP and Quicktime.)

I am lost and tried. Please HELP!

Where do they play back too fast? In which app?
Maybe some files were interpreted at the wrong frame rate in AE?

At any rate, we need to trace:
    1) at which point the files started going wrong (AE? QT Player? FCP?),
    2) what’s the difference between the ones that work and the ones that don’t.

    Steve,

You are exactly right. When I ran the CS3 update, for some reason it reset the interpretation on my DPX sequences. Not realizing that this had happened I rendered half of my masters with the worng intrepretation.

Thanks a million for your reply.
