Hey everyone here is my question,

I am creating matte passes from HD video that isolate talent from the greenscreen, and using the alpha matte pulled from the keyer as a silouhette (think ipod commercial only in white on black). The trick is that one of the actresses is holding a device in her hands and the director wants me to isolate the device as it’s own layer. The device has tracking markers on it, and her hands are painted blue for easier keying. My question is about combining mattes.

What is the best way to isolate the device (its a sidekick cell phone) from the green and blue screen?

I assume you pull two keys, one for the greenscreen and one for the blue hands but how do I combine them? Should I apply two key effects to the same footage or should I make separate layers? Then I assume I have to create a roto for the device it’s self to isolate from the talent behind it?

As an added bonus the blue hands don’t like to be keyed too well, the folds in her hands don’t pull well.

    Any advice is appreciated thanks!
