I’ve just installed AE7. When I go to start the program I get an error message saying :

After Effects error: crash occured while invoking plug-in”Open GL 3D”.

After removing the plug-in in the extensions folder, the program now works. Now,of course,I have no open GL functions. Is there any reason the program doesn’t like the plugin. I’ve got a Martox Parhelia 128MB video card.

PS I’ve just installed service pack 2.

    Thanks.

Parhelias are not officially supported, as I recall. They do not natively support many OpenGL functions and the drivers seem to be a bit flakey. It’s entirely possible that this is the cause of your troubles.

I also have a Parhelia 128 and AE 7 works just fine.
Check off the game and 3D settings in the Matrox PowerDesk, maybe that will help.
The Parhelia does not support Open GL in AE7 only in AE 6.5.
