AE7 – Installer – Surprise
Hello all,
I have to admit i’m pretty much horrified at the new afx installer behaviour.
First of all it doesnt leave any choices… exept destination… i’d like to be able
to choose what to install but whatever.
Second, while installing adobe help center, the installer decides to scan the *whole* disk.
Not only this is a breach of privacy for an application, but it also takes one hell of a long
time when the disk is big(especially a 1TB array with 600k+ files) while putting a lot
of strain on the disk.
Third, even worse, the installer cant cope properly with strangely named files(= non ascii),
after waiting 20 mins for the scan to be done i started getting massively errors of type:
“Subsystem returned this error: ^0” from ahc.exe.
After killing the whole msiexec.exe for the adobe help center, the thing continued installing
properly and finished.Has anyone else seen these very annoying bugs/features?
Alternatively, if anyone knows switches to get it to install properly without errors…
