Crunching deadlines made me decide to take a project home from work, so I could work on this project on my spare time. After opening the project in CS3, I realized my mistake. Sure, CS3 can open a 6.5 project…but when I take my saved CS3 file back to work, will 6.5 read it okay?

I didn’t use any special plugins, or any fancy new gizmos like puppet tool. Just very simple 3D camera movements, simple layer property key framing, motion blurring…simple stuff that 6.5 would do anyway.

Well regardless, if I can’t open the CS3 project at work, I’ll just have to finish it here at home and render it out for work. That would still be harder and less convenient for me.

    Thanks,

ae project files are not backwards compatible.

so, you can either work at home (as you mentioned), or recreate the changes you made at home in cs3 on ae6.5 at work… or, if you happen to have 6.5 and cs3 on the same machine, you can copy and paste effects and keyframes between an open cs3 project and a 6.5 project.

Ahhh…that sucks plenty, but I can’t complain too much. Honestly, I think my best bet would be to recreate it at work. it needs to be done either tomorrow (Thursday) by COB, or really early in the morning.

    Thanks Kevin for the reply,
