If anyone knows this PLEASE help, I’m at my wits-end! I’m trying to make a simple arrow head align to a stroked Mask. Everytime I copy the Mask Shape and paste it to the Position in the arrow head layer it gets shifted to left. Meaning, it doesn’t line-up exactly with the stroked mask and I get an arrow head floating off to the side. What gives? Thanks, Aaron

The arrow head mask should be in the center of its layer. Is it?

Yeah it is…as soon as I paste the Mask Shape into the Arrowhead “position” it kicks it off to one side. I’ve tried this on several computers now so I now it’s gotta be me. Ha.

Hm. The anchor point of the arrowhead layer should follow the path of the mask shape.

Tell me about it! Is there something in the AE Preferences that should be checked/unchecked that I’m missing? This is just such an easy thing that I can’t figure out why it won’t work. Aaron

That was it! *Dancing round office* The one thing I overlooked was that I wasn’t working in Square Pixels between my Comps and Solids. Thank YOU! Aaron

HAHAHAHA….I was just talking to our engineering guru here at the station about said marketing weasels and their love of non-squares. He happened to agree with us! It’s truly been a nightmare trying to export out of Cinema 4D to After Effects to Final Cut to DV. And of course all of the producers want it done NOW! Aaron
