    I don’t really dablle in 3D myself..but I understand Cinema4D has a similar tight integration with AE (multiple embedded passes, etc. and ability to export camera data to AE. I *think* There is something called Max2AE aswell which might bring 3DS Max and AE together…search the COW for Max/AE, etc..?

    It’s really all about RPF files. You can render them out of most 3D packages out there. RPF stores the camera movement that you can also import in AE.

    However you cannot just push objects into a rendered scene like the “Drill Press” tag. You would have to create a mask layer using data in RPF. This is possible, but it takes some work, while in Combustion it just works.

    Everything you see in Combustion is possible in AE. It’s just a matter of approach and amout of work you have to put in.

    I’ll be doing a tutorial on basic RPF usage inside AE, just don’t know when yet.
