  • AE transpose keyframe movement from 2min clip to 1min clip

    Hello

I have made a set of keyframe positions in a series of layers in a clip that was estimated to 2 min,

I would like to keep the same pattern – movement over time for each layer – but use it in a 1 min long clip instead of a 2 min long clip, and wonder if there is an easy way to do this.

    I work in AE cs4

There are a couple ways to do this…easiest is to copy/paste key frames from one to another, than select all key frames…then click on the last key frame and drag while holding option (alt) key. It will scale the length (relative) of all key frames.

You could leave your “layer1whusbymap” composition as-is at 2 minutes, drop it into a new comp, and then use either Time Stretch or Time Remapping [link] to shorten it down to a minute.

Alternately, you could select all the keyframes in the “layer1whusbymap” comp, hold the Option Key, and drag the last keyframe from 2min back to 1min. (See Editing, Moving, and Copying Keyframes [link] for more.)
