I’m adding some slow moving AE comps to my premier project. The project is mostly still images that we’re panning, zooming, etc.
I’m encoding with 7.5 MB/s CBR, encoding quality max. The stills look wonderful—smooth transitions and pan/zoom—but when it gets to the AE comps I get a very noticeable flicker. The flicker isn’t there in the .mov file that I exported from AE, when viewed in QuickTime.
I’m also having trouble with some titles imported from AE and PS, the actual files look great in their respective programs but have ugly jagged edges when rendered from Premier.
For the AE title I tried a PNG sequence (with alpha), and that seemed to be better than the quick time. Rendering a PNG sequence made little or no difference in the flicker for the non-title comps.
