Hey Everybody. I am trying to import a targa sequence from AE CS3 to FCP.
I know that you can use quicktime to collate but somebody else needs the sequence and cant be bothered to use this method.

All Old sequences i have rendered import fine but new renders (even single files) will not import.

I have tried 2 macs that don’t work but if rendered on AE CS3 on a pc and then copied accross this works fine.

I am pretty savvy with different ways of doing things like setting up an action sequence in Photoshop to resave the files to import which works but it is bugging me and has got me baffled.

I did see a previous post about this but it wasnt solved so can anybody help please??

As you noted, this issue has come up a lot recently. It wouldn’t surprise me if there were some Quicktime bug in Targa handling.

My answer to this is the same as my answers to the others — does it really have to be a Targa sequence? Couldn’t it be TIFF or PNG? Nobody uses TrueVision boards anymore!

ok cheers for the help. Yeah it does have to be a targa really as its for a broadcast wipe where the vision mixer deals with targas.

    Thanks

Ok, maybe some people still are using TrueVision boards.

You don’t have many TGA settings that you can tweak — your only options are bit depth and RLE encoding.

Do your TGAs have an alpha channel, or are you outputting a separate matte? If there’s no embedded alpha, does it make a difference if you manually force 24 bpc instead of 32? Does it help if you toggle the run length encoding checkbox?
