I’ve been using AI vector graphics in AE for ages and never had a problem. Suddenly, out of nowhere, every time I try to create shapes from layers (even very simple layers) the convert dialog opens and just stays as “converting” forever, until I get tired, hit skip, and see half the result of the conversion, my AE is turtle-slow, to the point that I have to force quit the program.
I’ve tried purging the memory and cache; I’ve tried manually emptying my Mac’s cache, rebooting, but nothing works.
Plus, I can’t find any mention of this issue online… Anyone has had anything like this happen to them?
Thanks in advance for your input!

Have you tried resetting your preferences? Hold Ctrl+Alt+Shift (Windows) or Command+Option+Shift (macOS) while starting After Effects. I know it sounds like voodoo, but it clears up enough strange issues that it a good first troubleshooting step.

I, too, am having this issue. And resetting preferences didn’t help. Has anyone found a solution to this problem?
