    Hi,

I’ve already post this message in the common AE questions area, but it doesn’t seem to be the good place.
    so once again :

I have a real common after effect question that I can’t find !

Is there a place where I can find a “list” of the After effects Shortcuts ?

For example : How can I read frame by frame on my keyboard ? How to scale my timeline …

    As stupid as that !

Thanks a lot (it would change my life !)

In addition to the After Effects shortcuts help file, you’ll find this PDF a wealth of information (although it’s targeted at version 5.5 of AE, it’s still very valid):

    https://www.cybmotion.com/sharing/AE5_5_HiddenGems_3.pdf

If you poke around the site, you’ll also find a number of articles written by Chris and Trish Meyer, and you’ll notice that they’ve written numerous books on AE, which stand out as the best of the lot (IMHO). The above-linked article has tons of shortcut combinations, many of which don’t seem to show up in the AE file, but which also are explained in very clear detail. Have fun!

I’d really like to compile something like this sometime, but for now you’ll have to look at the AE help file (as previously suggested) and ask on here for anything that you can’t find.

Frame by frame movement on the timeline has a few shortcuts:

One frame forward: cmd/ctrl-right arrow key or page down
One frame backward: cmd/ctrl-left arrow key or page up

You can move ten frames at a time by holding the shift key while you use any of the above.

Scaling the timeline can be accomplished easily if you have a scroll wheel:

    Zoom In: opt/alt-scroll wheel up
    Zoom Out: opt/alt-scroll wheel down

    No…No…No!

You’re thinking of your brain as half empty…think of it as half full! If you can pick up even a quarter of the shortcuts that are in the Meyer PDF, you’ll be working twice as fast in AE!
    Have fun!!!!!
