? Selective Pre-Rendering
Yet another nook and cranny menu choice / item I stumbled across in the vastness of Vegas Studio. (HOW much did this thing cost? 129 bucks at Fry’s? !!) “When you perform a selective prerender, a separate preview file is created for each section of your project that needs to be prerendered. Sections that contain transitions, effects, and compositing will need to be prerendered; unprocessed DV media files will not.”
– This seems important, when does this come into play / what does it do for you?

If you need to see a section of the project that has effect and/or transitions without the framerate dropping, you can do a pre-render of that section. Then when you play back that section, it will play at full speed. Another option that essentially does the same thing is the RAM render. It doesn’t take any disc space but is limited to the RAM size allocated.
