it sounds like ae is having trouble clearing the ram cache. there’s 2 things you should try, one is to choose edit>purge>all from the menu prior to rendering, this will clear the ram cache prior to rendering. the other is a ‘secret’ pref that you can set to force ae to clear the cache at specific intervals and often helps in cases like this.
to get the secret pref, hold the shift key down while selecting any preference, like shift+preferences>general. then, from the preference window, click the prefernce dropdown menu to change preferences. at the bottom should be one called ‘seecret’. select it and then set the ‘purge every xx fames’ to a number that is less than where ae stops rendering (ie. if it fails to render at frame 103, set it to 80-90).
note that you will want to set it back to zero when you are done with this project, purging the cache at set intervals can reduce performance and should only be used in cases like this…
