AE Renderfarm?

Ae CC 2014 has support for naive network rendering:

I’ve written extensively about Ae’s network rendering here in this forum — a quick search should turn up my notes.

I’d suggest you look into a proper render manager like Deadline or Tractor. I’d also suggest that Mac Minis are probably very inefficient in terms of cost/performance.

Hi Walter,
i know this post is over 2 years now but i was looking for some knowledge on setting up a local renderfarm for AE rendering.
i am automating the render of about 700 one-minute-long videos per day out of AE. nothing too complex but obviously the volume requires some renderfarm workflow.
i looked into the network rendering option in AE but all over i see that it has to be exported as an image sequence. My question is, is that the only output format? does that mean i cant use it if my video has audio?

You can export audio, but only from a single machine. By setting up a post-render action, you should be able to handle the audio and stitching.

Maybe look at Render Garden? It’s new this year and should solve a number of your problems pretty easily.

rendergarden looks like an awesome option either way and not too costly as well thought i’m not sure its going to be powerful enought for our need.
if im looking to render out 700 one-minute video with effects PER DAY, do you think there is anyway to do that without a render farm?
i’m not against renderfarms just have no knowledge about setting one up so i’m kinda lost…

Sorry, I assumed that you already had a network of computers set up, since you were talking about the watch folder network render system.

I understand what you’re trying to do… but what is it exactly that you’ve already got to work with?
