    Hello cows!

I have one question, just to be sure.

I have to make a dvd slideshow. Then it will be played with a retroproyector (sorry my english) and since the size of the screen its quite big (2mX2m), should i make something special?

I mean, the AE project render will be 720×576 (PAL D1 Square Pixel), cause it has to be that size to encode in dvd authoring tool, Encore DVD.

There is anyway to make more quality on the image?

I have the original pictures on tiff 300ppp, and they are 50% scale to fit the size (the made them 1420×1152 pixels)

I will get more quality with any method?
    Am losing quality someway?

    Should it work well?

Also about the subtitles, they are 14px. Its that enough? In the dv preview on the monitor looks quite nice.

    Should i make any changes?

Any advice would be really welcome!!!!

    THANKS!!!!

    KEEP THIS FORUMS GOING!!!!!

If you are playing off a DVD player then you are stuck to the resolution of the DVD medium. If you want better resolution then output to HDCam at HD res and rent a deck for playback.

[Percheron] “I will get more quality with any method?”

No, not if you are dependant on the DVD playback. Those standards are fixed and cannot be changed even minutely. you have to work with what you have. Like Chris said, playing back from HDV tape or a HD-res clip from a PC would be an alternative, but the projector has to support the resolution. Anyway, 2×2 m is pretty small, so DVD should be more than enough.

[Percheron] “Also about the subtitles, they are 14px. Its that enough? In the dv preview on the monitor looks quite nice.”

If you embed them in the video, it should suffice. Depending on the font you use, you may play it safe and increase the size slightly to 16 px or 18 px to avoid flickering on Playback from the DVD (which is going to be interlaced).
