AE not using all my RAM
This probably has been covered before, but I haven’t had any luck search.
I am having a lot of problem with AE crashing especially on final rendering.I am running Vista on a Intel(R) Xeon(R) 2.66 GHZ processor. 12GB of RAM.
When I render it says “RAM: 60% of 2.0 GB”
In preferences window as well, it is only reading 2 GB of RAM.
What can I do to use more of my RAM.

I assume that this is After Effects CS4.

Hi John,
After Effects CS3 is actually incapable of using more than 4gb under any system.
You can find information on how to allow it to use more than 2gb in the comments section of the following help article.
If that doesn’t help you, there are also numerous articles on Google. Just search for “using more than 2gb of RAM in after effects”, or something similar.
