  • AE not recognizing older Lagarith files

I was working on a project a couple months ago, exporting my HDV/m2t files from Premiere Pro to Lagarith, which I then worked on in AE CS4.

I recently formatted my computer and reinstalled AE, Kazaa Mega Codec Pack and Lagarith. When I open my AE project file up, all the old Lagarith footage is black! I exported some Laga files from PPro after the reinstall, and on importing these to AE, they show up fine.

NOTE: I used “YUY2” mode in the old Laga files, and “RGB (Default)” in the new Lagas.

So I tried playing the old and new Lagarith files with Media Player Classic — the new Lagas play, but I get an error with the old Lagas (which don’t show up in AE). The warning says, “The following pins failed to find a connectable filter: AVI Decompressor::XForm Out”. There’s a lot more detail afterwards for Media Types 0 – 8 (0 below).

I’m guessing I have to tweak some codec settings but don’t know what to do. Please help!!

On another forum site, someone had a similar problem, saying “I get an AVI Decompressor::XForm Out when trying to play a LAGS .avi file.”

Later, he fixed it, stating, “I fixed it. It was a combination of the “prevent upsampling when decoding” and ffdshow not kicking in with filter merits. Got it fixed.”

But I don’t know how to do what he’s saying! Any help? Please?

Problem’s gone, maybe it was enabling “Raw Data” in ffmpeg settings.
