I am by no means a motion graphics artist, I am more of a producer/ editor. I know my way around AE for simple text animations and am trying to expand my skills and get a little more in depth. I am sure this is simple for most but how would one go about the follwing:

making a flat 2d shiluette of a fish look likes it is swimming. I have gooten as far as rotating it in a 3d enviroment so it looks like it is circling slower and smaller further away and faster and much larger right in fornt of the camera. it looks pretty good but now i would like to add a little wave action. I have fiddled with all sorts of wave, wave warp…and can’t seem to get it right. I looked all over for tutorial (which a many on htis site have gotten me this far) and even tried to use a flag wave tutorial but came up short. thanks for the ideas and help that is about to come in!!!!!!! the cow rocks

hmm………..maybe precomp the fish swimming into another comp with an adjustment layer and a ripple or wave effect on the adjustment layer so the fish ripples just a bit as it swims around,…..
