ae makes dvcpro hd footage grainy noisy why? please help!
I can’t figure it out. AE makes my DVCPro HD 1080 footage grainy and noisy and the blacks lighter. Just look at the screens. Both screens are taken from Quicktime. One of the raw footage and one exported at lossless from AE.

What version of AE are you using? And exactly what were your output settings?
If it’s CS3 I’ll quote Todd from a previous user’s question.

THANK YOU MICHAEL! I believe I’ve figured it out. I have cs4 but I went ahead and read through the documentation you linked anyways. I found that enabling the “Match Legacy After Effects Quicktime Gamma Adjustments” under project settings did the trick. Now the footage inside AE and after export from AE matches the raw footage very well. Thanks a ton for pointing me in the right direction.
